Benedict Dorsam grew up in Bethlehem, PA in a sports-loving family and has been involved in athletics for as long as he can remember.

 

After playing a variety of sports growing up, he has spent the last several years coaching both of his children and currently also serves as head coach of his daughter Everly’s travel softball team.

Benedict’s coaching philosophy focuses on developing the total athlete. In addition to teaching baseball fundamentals, he wants players to become confident, athletic movers who can succeed across multiple sports.

​

Through his work with Paladin Power and Speed, Benedict has helped train local youth athletes in speed, agility, footwork, and overall athletic development. He believes building those skills at a young age creates confidence and a strong foundation for continued growth.

​

Above all, Benedict wants his players to learn the game the right way, develop a genuine love for baseball, and have fun while doing it. His goal is to create an environment where players are challenged to improve while building confidence, athleticism, teamwork, and a lasting enthusiasm for sports.

Outside of coaching, Benedict is a Physician Assistant in Cardiology serving veterans at the Garner VA. He and his wife, Nikki, a nurse, have two children, Brooks and Everly. And as a Bethlehem native, Benedict is a diehard Philadelphia sports fan: Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, Flyers…all of them.

Sergio grew up in Southern California playing multiple sports. Baseball has been a big part of his life ever since he was a kid and now has the opportunity to share that same love for the game with young athletes.

Sergio has worked in the aerospace industry for over 13 years and currently leads a team building unmanned aircraft.

He has been married to his wife Ashley, for 8 years, and has two boys, Mason and Asher, who both enjoy playing baseball. Being a baseball dad has given him a new appreciation for the game and the impact coaches can have on kids.

He’s excited to be part of the 8U travel ball program and looks forward to helping young players develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game.

Josh brings a lifelong love of sports and a passion for youth development to the Oak City Aviators 8U coaching staff, where he has the opportunity to coach alongside his son, Mason. Josh has coached youth baseball and basketball since 2024 and previously served as a head coach for recreational Pee Wee football. His own athletic background includes football and basketball through high school.

Josh believes youth sports are about more than developing athletic skills. He emphasizes accountability, discipline, teamwork, handling adversity, and competing the right way, lessons he hopes players will carry with them well beyond the baseball field.

Outside of baseball, Josh is a Senior Field Operations Manager in the renewable energy industry and spent approximately 10 years working with a dirt racing team.

 

He and his wife, Jen, have been married since 2017. A lifelong New England Patriots fan in a house full of Eagles fans, Josh is no stranger to a little friendly competition.

Mike grew up in Richmond, VA and has called the Raleigh area home since attending NC State University in the early 2000s. Baseball has always been his greatest athletic passion, and he has continued playing for the past 20 years in the Central North Carolina Men’s Senior Baseball League. He began coaching youth sports when his son, Aidan, started playing and quickly discovered how rewarding it is to help young athletes learn and grow.

Mike’s coaching philosophy centers on sportsmanship, development, confidence, and having fun. He believes sportsmanship sets the foundation for how players represent themselves, their teammates, and the Aviators both on and off the field. At this age, he emphasizes developing skills and baseball knowledge over wins and losses while helping each player build confidence and a genuine love for the game.

Outside of baseball, Mike serves his community as a Senior Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Raleigh. He lives in Apex with his wife, Shawna, and their three children. Mike looks forward to continuing to grow alongside the players and coaches while helping create an environment where kids have fun, become better baseball players, and develop lessons they can carry beyond the field.
